Tissue left behind after abortion *obvious trigger warning*

Sorry, I’ve been posting a fair bit about this abortion but I could do with some reassurance. Have posted here as the pregnancy choices board is very slow.
I had an abortion 4 weeks ago, everything went ok. I’m still bleeding, went for a scan and the nurse said there is still a fair bit of tissue left behind and it should come out naturally.
Has anyone had this? How long should it take? I’m worried it’s not going to come out at all and I’m worried it will make me ill.

This also happened to me, was v scary at the time but all ok. It did come away naturally which wasn’t the nicest but I suffered no physical ill effects. 💐

How long did it take for you? It is scary isn’t it, I keep wondering if it’s suddenly going to become infected. It sounds harsh but I just want it over with, I want to move on but can’t with worrying about this.

I think my remaining tissue came away on my first period after...which was slightly later than a usual period (about 30 days vs 25 usually). Sorry tmi- I knew it was old tissue as it was very dark and clotty.

Also, I felt a lot better emotionally after that period, it felt like I was back to normal again. Still cry sometimes but it's less overwhelming.

Oh well hopefully my period will hurry up and get it out, although I’m not sure how I’ll tell the difference with bleeding every day anyway.
I just want it to hurry up and be over with.

Yes this happened to me and it did come away naturally with no issues. I hope the same happens for you.
