Gah what's this?!

DH has just knocked something off his body. Its left a small red mark.

It was just below his belly button. The only thing we can find on the floor is this thing in the picture.

He is worried it's a tick. He did go running yesterday through some tall corn but not grass.

What do you think?!

Gah what's this?!

Does it have legs...?
Looks a bit like an apple pip from the picture... Sorry not helpful

NeverGotMyPuppy · 06/08/2019 22:49

That's what I've said. Doesn't look like an insect at all. But odd that DH knocked something off him and its left a mark

Is he bleeding or is it like residue from whatever it is

Judashascomeintosomemoney · 06/08/2019 22:51

Looks like a seed pod of some kind

isthisfairidontknow · 06/08/2019 22:53

Tic. My daughter got one on her stomach when she was 2, except it wouldn't detach. Was horrible.

Spam88 · 06/08/2019 22:53

It really just looks like one of those seed things, we get loads of them in the house when we leave the windows open.

NeverGotMyPuppy · 06/08/2019 22:53

He isnt bleeding

What does the red mark look like? Is it tick bites that look like a bullseye?

veewee · 06/08/2019 22:56

Yep, a tic

CrumbsThatsQuick · 06/08/2019 22:57

It's a dried tomato seed!!!

NeverGotMyPuppy · 06/08/2019 22:59

This is the mark

It's a seed. Panic not.

NeverGotMyPuppy · 06/08/2019 23:00

The thing on the tissue paper is definitely not an insect.
The question is was it what DH knocked off his stomach. I've scoured the bathroom floor and cant find anything.

That's a seed, we were at the park today and they were blowing in their multitudes onto our picnic. Any red mark is just where it was pressing into his skin, maybe a small reaction or entirely unrelated!

KellyHall · 06/08/2019 23:05

It's not a tick.

I've recently been on a camping holiday during which my entire family were bitten by ticks. If they actually bite you, you can't flick them off because they bury their heads in your skin with only their rear end sticking out. And if they do get flicked off, it's because they haven't yet bitten you so there would be no red mark left behind.

If he's that worried, he should see a doctor.

theorchidwhisperer · 06/08/2019 23:20

It's a seed.

AliceLutherNeeMorgan · 06/08/2019 23:23

Definitely a seed. Looks like an apple pip with “wings” either side. I get loads of them on the window sill

Purpleheadgirl · 06/08/2019 23:24

Looks like a bed bug to me...look just like an apple seed

AliceLutherNeeMorgan · 06/08/2019 23:26

And I agree you’d never get a tick off that easily! They dig their heads in and you have to tweezer them out the little bastards cling on like mad Angry

Hawkmoth · 06/08/2019 23:26

It's a birch seed.

NeverGotMyPuppy · 06/08/2019 23:28

Definitely not a bed bug (bitter experience!)

Dontbestupidagain · 06/08/2019 23:29

Bed bug!

So you posted a picture asking what your DH knocked of this stomach, and added a random picture of something it isn't?

Marcipex · 06/08/2019 23:36

Sandwich it in sticky tape so you can get a better look in the morning

Judashascomeintosomemoney · 06/08/2019 23:41

Ah right, so yes looks like a silver birch seed or similar. So you are asking could that be what caused the mark on him? Maybe if it was pressed in against his skin could have caused a red pressure mark, or maybe if he has some sort of allergy to it could have caused a red mark. Or it wasn’t that and you haven’t found what it was.....

Gah what's this?!
