washing up liquid in dishwasher

So I lost all common sense this evening and used a big squirt of washing up liquid in the dishwasher instead of a tablet...it’s not very happy with me and is now ridiculously bubbly and doesn’t sound too good.

How do I sort this malarkey out? I’ve put a towel underneath the door, in case the bubbles breach the seal, and have put it on again to see if it actually rinses the machine out. It’s got to be sorted before Thursday evening when my parents (I’m 37!) get home. I’ve been cat sitting and taking advantage of not having to washing up at the sink

Advice on good old Google is to stop the machine, remove as much of the bubbles and water as you can. By just leaving it running you run the risk of damaging the machine.

Is table salt not supposed to stop the bubbles
