It doesn’t suit her..

eBay buyer has requested return because the dress she bought isn’t quite right for her.

Do I return? I don’t really feel I should for that reason...

I wouldn’t. If she bought it and it makes her look fat or whatever then she should sell on. You’re not a shop.

However, if she raises a dispute eBay may all side with her.

Hopefully you took very clear photos showing no damage just in case she tries to claim it was stained or ripped.

WanderingTrolley1 · 06/08/2019 19:18

Well, I responded that I don’t accept returns because an item doesn’t suit and took your “not a shop”, but apparel she’s accepted returns from buyers for that reason and insists she needs to return for a refund...

Did you say you accepted returns on your listing?

WanderingTrolley1 · 06/08/2019 19:24

“Returns not accepted” in that section of listing.

It doesn't matter if you accept returns or not, if she opens a case and says it's not as described you'll have to return it. Better if you agree to return it now at her cost or you'll have to pay both sets of postage too.

WanderingTrolley1 · 06/08/2019 19:28

It don’t PayPal see out messages with her stating that she just doesn’t like it (as opposed to it being not as described)?

It doesn't matter unfortunately

HJWT2 · 06/08/2019 20:10

@CodenameVillanelle of course it matters.

Best thing to do is contact eBay, tell them you listed no return and the buyer wants to return for X reason, see what they suggest.

CodenameVillanelle · 06/08/2019 20:16

No, it doesn't. eBay sides with the buyer regardless.

livinglavidavillanelle · 06/08/2019 20:17

It doesn't matter if she said that in a message sadly. Give her a refund and save yourself a lot of hassle, trust me.

WanderingTrolley1 · 06/08/2019 21:46

What a pain.

I’ve messaged her saying I’ll tefund the dress, but the return will be at her cost.

OP posts:
WanderingTrolley1 · 06/08/2019 21:48

If I accept the return, doesn’t that mean I automatically pay for the postage?

OP posts:
bealright · 06/08/2019 22:05

eBay will always side with the buyer Angry

livinglavidavillanelle · 06/08/2019 23:41

Yes I've had to refund a particularly vile specimen recently, at my cost for postage, which he hasn't done ffs. If they open a dispute it's a nightmare and likely to end up with her keeping the dress and being refunded. So if you can amicably agree a return and refund, it's the better option, albeit a pain.

Dieu · 06/08/2019 23:42

How annoying for you. It wouldn't occur to me to inconvenience someone like that.

WanderingTrolley1 · 09/08/2019 07:14

I accepted the return request, but pissed off at buyer. Hope it comes back in the same condition...

OP posts:
EleanorReally · 09/08/2019 07:17

she hasnt helped herself, if she had given another reason it might be less annoying to you, ie. did not fit
