When did you DC start playing with toys?

As in taking an interest in them and using them for (sort of) what they're for?

DS has a little friend of a few months younger who absolutely loves their little dolly and feeds it the spoon and bottle it comes with.

DS would just drag it by the arm around the room for a split second and drop it. The only 'half' success I've had is building blocks. But he doesn't play with them properly, he just takes them out and puts them back.

His favourite things to 'play' with are washing up sponges. I once treated him to a whole packet and let him do what he liked. He was there for 2 hours Grin He also loves my hoover and steam cleaner. He's too small for those though and they're very heavy. We have a mop that he loves too.

I bought him his own hoover and mop (children's versions) and he did take an interest but soon abandoned those for the real thing

When did you DC start playing?

I don't think DD was really interested in toys before she was about 1 - up until that point things like keys, stacking cups did the job.

About 1 I’d say

6ish months? He’s 9 months now and loves his Sophie giraffe, stacking rings, blocks etc.

If you mean Lego, dolls, action figures etc then my older DC probably started playing with them at 18 months I’d say.
