Tesco lunch. What shall I have?

Got to nip to the small Tesco across the road for my lunch. I dont fancy a pre-made sandwich or pasta. What are my other options? I'm at work so cant assemble anything complicated

The chiller aisle often has cold samosas/onion bhajis etc. I quite often like that sort of thing for lunch

My partner likes the honey mustard chicken pasta salad. I like their wedges of watermelon. Nice crisps and fresh juice.

Sorry, just read no pasta. Greek salad with feta?

Littleblurry · 06/08/2019 12:01

Ooh I like the idea of samosas. I think I would want a dip though

Never tried the honey mustard chicken pasta salad- I dont think this Tesco sells it it does sound nice though.

Sushi?

ShirleyPhallus · 06/08/2019 12:03

Please don’t buy Tesco sushi, it’s the saddest sushi in the world!

I’d get fresh bread, deli meat, bag of salad and assemble my own delicious salad

Do they have hot chicken? I get southern fried strips then put them in the little folded flatbreads you can get in the bread aisle with some salad and mayo.

Get a fresh crusty baguette and some lovely cooked meat or pate!

Mammyloveswine · 06/08/2019 12:04

I'd get a salad pack and packet of chicken chunks. Quick and easy to put together. I'd also get a "protein pot" of boiled eggs and spinach and a banana. Nice and filling, very healthy and easy!

That sounds amazing.

Littleblurry · 06/08/2019 12:09

The hot chicken sounds incredible!! Alas this Tesco does not have it. A fresh baguette and some meat it is!

I'm on my second day of Tesco wholemeal flatbreads, spread withTesco own-brand 'Philadelphia', a couple of slices of honey roast ham and sliced cherry toms with a handful of rocket.

Troels · 06/08/2019 12:33

Pork pies and a bag of crisps. Grin

Do you have access to a microwave? If yes, I'd get a microwave pasta dish - cabonara, or one of those steamy salmon/vegetable type ones if you're feeling healthy.

No microwave, I'd get crusty bread and some ham and cheese. Far nicer and probably cheaper than ready made chilled sandwiches.
