My eldest has a panda theme. Which is basically a panda duvet cover, a couple of pillows. She is 9. The little one has unicorns everywhere. Less of a theme, more of a lifestyle 😆. They both have white walls, wooden floors and sparkly silver curtains so when they are fed up with pandas and unicorns it will be fairly painless to change.

Piles of clothes, books and magazines in every corner and on every surface, seems to be the theme in my teenagers room

Take a look at @lucyhamiltonathome on instagram. Some amazing kids rooms on there

DS has a space theme, it’s a bit old now and has had a few bits added (I put some pipes up to look like ventilation etc) and DD has a fairy room. DS is just about to turn 9 (his room is 3yrs old) and DD is nearly 6 - her room was done in the new year.

  1. Swimming pool. It's about ankle deep with packing currently. Maybe paddling pool would be better.
  2. The Tornado. The mess is well stirred
  3. Messi...no not the footballer.

Piles of clean clothes that they never put away and dirty dishes seem to be the theme of my two.

However, I never went for themes in the character or things big at present kinda thing. Because I knew they’d be short lived and I’d be re-decorating or replacing items within a year or so. So always stick with a Color theme instead.

My dds have a woodland theme.

Shelley54 · 06/08/2019 06:05

Paw Patrol. DS is 3.5

soulrunner · 06/08/2019 06:14

Officially: no
Unofficially

DS: Nerf Gun armoury
DD: Explosion at the Beenie Boo factory with unicorn and butterfly subthemes.

SnugglySnerd · 06/08/2019 06:23

That Banksy room is very cool!

Dd1's room has a vaguely woodland theme with owls and things although it could probably do with redecorating.

Dts room is quite plain. I keep meaning to add some decorative features to their respective sides of the room but never get round to it and as they are only 2 they haven't been nagging me yet!

FrancesFryer · 06/08/2019 06:23

All of mine have an IKEA theme going on.

You pop in for one thing and come out with 6 plates, 4 glasses and a set of cutlery

NavyBerry · 06/08/2019 06:39

@chickenyhead that's cool! Wouldn't occur to me! Did he choose?

We have that theme too!

Snog · 06/08/2019 06:41

Loving everyone's photos - lucky kids!

stucknoue · 06/08/2019 06:42

My eldest has an oriental theme but she designed it herself before starting university (she lives at home)

HappyDinosaur · 06/08/2019 06:58

My daughter is just a baby but her room is Beatrix Potter, it's only touches though against a white green background so it can easily be changed when she grows out of it.

Mummydoctor · 06/08/2019 07:08

8 year old has jungle and monkey theme. 10 year old has army theme.

DS’s (1) current theme is unpacked boxes and suitcases from when we moved 5 months ago. Dd (6) is piles of random tat acquired from tombola and the plastic junk that comes with children’s magazines that all seems to just multiply.

reluctantbrit · 06/08/2019 07:17

12 year old girl her, she has a horse theme plus Harry Potter thrown in for good measure.

Plain white walls with bright pink and purple accessories for curtain and lamps. That stayed for 7 years now. All other bits like pillows, duvets and wall sticker, posters are easy to change.

She is due a room makeover, let’s see what she wants next year.

Pascha · 06/08/2019 07:23

Just their choice of paint colour. They both have racing car posters up. Ds1 has some spitfire stuff. Ds2 is full of half-built Lego...

They've just sort of evolved. As they've grown the baby jungle and train themes have been replaced. None of the decor us permanent.
