Hi, my husband will be starting a new job on ilfracombe at the end of the year which means we (me, hubby, 6 yr old and 3 yr old) will be relocating from cardiff. Any advice on best areas to live, schools etc much appreciated. I will also be looking to work early next year. Any help very much appreciated Smile

I was dragged up in Ilfracombe. I think Braunton school is liked for the older children (assuming you don't want to keep moving) but that would involve a commute to work each day.

If you want to avoid that, then Ilfracombe has all schools but the villages might be preferred when they are tiny.

Braunton is nice with good schools, only a 15 min drive to Ilfracombe. Combe Martin is also pretty and only 5 mins from Ilfracombe.

Woolacombe, Croyde and Morthoe are on the coast but pricey.

Nice small villages nearby, Parracombe, West Down, Lee.

Hope the move goes well. North Devon is an amazing place to live.

My parents moved me to Ilfracombe as a child and I had the most incredible childhood and teen years, it remains my favourite place in the world! Best of luck OP Smile
