Baby won't take bottle

My Lo is 5 months old. Exclusively Bf and he has a cow milk intolerance. We have tried most of the prescribed formulas but he just spits it out fussing on the bottle. We have tried different bottles, diffrent teats, different times of the day and no luck. He has now also started spitting out my expressed milk from the bottle too. Trying to get him on the bottle as recurring mastitis. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Does he need to be on a bottle? Could you use s free flow cup or an open cup? These are generally suitable at that age.

We got a cup but the concern was that if he didn't take to it and he got used to biting on that but not drinking it that when I put him back on the breast he would start biting and make the mastitis worse.

Haven’t dealt with this myself, but someone I know used a ‘doidy cup’ successfully.

I would wait until he is very hungry and try again, so wait at least 4 hours from last feed and probably 5 then try.

Watching with interest as I have the same issue with 7 month old DC. Just ordered the doidy cup, thank you for that!

Thanks for the recommendation have just ordered a doidy cup. Part of the issue we seem to have as well is the flavour of the formula, the minute any goes near the mouth he is pulling a face of disgust and we aren't sure if that is what puts him off the bottles.
