Help me name this film!

I started watching a film a while ago that was really good but now can't remember the name of it!

Plot was a man who had an affair with a younger woman. His exW was very depressed and killed herself not long afterwards and he became a suspect.

I don't remember much of the film really, but another part I do remember is that he and his wife threw a party and mistress was there.

Hope someone can name this film for me as it's driving me nuts and I want to watch the ending 🙈

Was it based on a book late 80s or early 90s? Did something about a set of six crystal tumblers have something to do with it?
