Woken up this morning to an itchy thigh had a look and i've been bitten, probably from being in an open field the day before. It's SO itchy and the skin feels very hard and hot. I feel fine in myself though so don't think it's infected. What would anyone else do if they had this?? worth seeing the docs or not?

Yeah, see how it is in the morning but if it’s any bigger I’d get to the docs. I had similar recently, it ended up about 20cm across and I was prescribed a course of antibiotics.

Show a pharmacist

SnugStars · 02/08/2019 21:28

I agree with show a pharmacist, hydrocortisone is good for the itching.

GP or walk in... it looks nasty OP. Could be heading for celulitus? I’ve been having these and they don’t get better without anti biotics. If the swelling starts tracking along a limb see someone quick!

Thecrown3 · 02/08/2019 21:45

Take an antihistamine immediately to take away the itching, ibroprofen 4 hourly for swelling and hydrocortisone cream on the bite itself.id also ice pack it for 10 mins couple times a day to help ( can you tell I have had v similar bites to you?!?)
If hasn’t gone down in 2 days with that treatment then GP.
