Cheap, last minute holidays...

Is this a thing, or am I kidding myself?

I unexpectedly got a bit of extra cash. Not loads, but enough to take me and my 2 dcs away for a bonus holiday - at least I hope so! I was hoping to get a beach holiday for around £1k, just before they go back to school. Can you get good late deals?

Does anyone have any tips on where to look? Or have any other suggestions?

Build it yourself! Use www.Skyscanner.com to find flights, then booking.com or hotels.com to find a room :) Saves money and means you have more to enjoy where ever you go :)

Try TUI or Jet2 holidays somewhere popular like Spain or Mallorca. I went a few years ago with my two dc and I got a fantastic deal by going into a TUI travel agent as she was able to get something better than the internet by putting us as 2 adults and a child.

You also get ATOL protection with a package which I think is good given today's news of travel companies going bust plus threat of air strikes and so on. Also with 2 children in tow a package is so easy with coach transfers and everything arranged for you. Hope you find something good 🌞

AutumnMeadows I went alone with the boys with TUI a couple of years ago, and was very happy. Can't see anything for less than about £1500 at the moment - but you think it's less if I go into the store?

We booked a holiday a week ago, currently sat on the terrace of my hotel. We booked through teletext, it was the cheapest for us

Designer travel always get me a good deal. Not sure if they're just local?

CuriousMama · 02/08/2019 18:59

Designer travel.

Try Travelzoo. They have last minute bargains.

AutumnMeadows · 02/08/2019 19:07

Maybe! Worth a try. They'll be really keen to sort something out for you! Is your budget of 1000 for self catering?

AutumnMeadows · 02/08/2019 19:11

Also try loveholidays.com

Thanks everyone! Who knew that Teletext was still going?!?!

AutumnMeadows I was hoping to get All Inclusive as I'm very lazy, but I appreciate I may have to raise my budget for that. I did look at breaks in the UK, but it seems just as expensive as paying for a holiday abroad Shock.
