Lego House

Has anyone visited the Lego House in Billund? We're thinking about doing a trip later in the year, probably for 3 nights. I'd be interested to hear whether this is long enough to cover Legoland as well (feels like we might as well do both?) and about what accommodation people have gone for. The easiest/least faff seems to be the Legoland Hotel but I imagine it's also the most expensive. Presumably there is public transport between Legoland and the Lego House?

We went to Billiund last year. We camped at the holiday village with our own tent, but there were also cabins and rooms there. That was 5 minutes walk away from Legoland itself. Then there are the Lego hotels, including the Castle one which was being built while we were there.
The house was about a mile away I think. We didn't go there. Two days in the park were sufficient and we went in August.

Accommodation and park entry were relatively cheap, but the food was expensive (as was the Lego!).

The airport is right next to Legoland.

Thanks, this is really helpful. I didn't realise the house was quite so close - a mile is easily in walking distance even with a stroppy toddler.

We went to Legoland and Legohouse this Easter, so I´m happy to share our experiences! We stayed about an hour away in a Landal park. There is also another bungalowpark near Billund which may be cheaper in Autumn. The whole family absolutely LOVED Lego House. It is in the middle of the (small) village and we had some difficulty finding the parking but the house was easy to spot. As with everything in DK it was quite expensive, but we spent an entire day there and were kicked out at 19.00. Even though it looks small, at the end we had to rush through the rooms as we were running late. There is just so much to see and build in each room, even for toddlers. The kids are still talking about the lunch-made-by-robots (tip: if you arrive, immediately book a slot for the lunch, as it gets super busy). We did Legoland the next day and even though it was nice, it was basically ´just a typical amusement park´. Long queues, overpriced tat & food. The best part was actually after the rides had closed as you still could explore the actual lego part of the park. Hope you´ll have fun there!

We love Legoland Billund and Lego House. Both are worth a full day in my experience and everything is located very close by. Also the water park at Lalandia which is right next to Legoland is brilliant if you wanted to do something different on the day in the middle. Don’t know about accommodation as we stay about an hour away with family. Yes food etc is expensive in Denmark, but this means that people are paid properly for their work and I think that you can tell this, as staff are polite, helpful and happy. The staff at Lego House are brilliant and very happy to explain how everything works and to get down on the floor and play with kids which is fantastic.

We usually go towards the end of August when the Danish school holidays are finished as therefore most attractions are relatively empty. We’ve never queued more than 10 minutes at Legoland.

Thanks, this is exactly what I needed. We're not that bothered about Legoland to be honest as I'm not sure how much our youngest would get out of it. Will have a think about whether we need to go or not. It's the novelty of the Lego House that really piqued our interest.

Is it worth doing 2 days at the LH or is that overkill? I'm conscious that we tend to move at snail's pace... Grin

We stayed at Lalandia www.lalandia.dk/en/billund It’s within walking distance of LEGOLAND® and is only 20 minutes drive from Givskud zoo and safari park.
