Vtech Kiddizoom camera anyone?

Anyone got a Kiddizoom camera for their DC? My DD is about to turn 4 and has asked for a camera for her birthday. She loves borrowing my phone to take pictures.

We ordered a kids digital camera for her from Amazon but it's just arrived and I'm panicking a bit as it is tiny! It fits in the palm of my hand and the menu is quite adult and hard to navigate (I'm struggling!) And although it is pink which was her only specification (!) I'm concerned it's nothing like what she had in mind.

I saw the Kiddizoom camera in a toy shop but worried it might be a bit too much of a 'toy' and wouldn't take a decent picture, also a bit concerned that is has games on it as I really don't want to just essentially give her a device she can sit and play games on.

Anyone got one? Is it reasonable? Can you disable the games? Nothing in the manual to suggest you can but I've seen a few reviews online mentioning you can set limits etc.

Thanks!!!

Have them, they are fab. Children got them aged 3 and still use them. Years and years later.

You cant disable games afaik, but they actually weren't interested or really able to play them until much older. They love taking photos of themselves, making little videos, using the photo editing tools etc. Quality is ok. And they are rugged!

Ours (aged 3 and 5) both love theirs. Very sturdy and easy to navigate for young children and photo quality is reasonable- given a 3yr old is holding the camera!

Thanks both. Might just send this one back and go to Argos tomorrow and pick up a Kiddizoom instead.

Or could keep this one for when she's older.

Mine have had them since they were about 2 or 3 and still use them now at 7&8 when we go anywhere. They're getting into using the editing aspect of it now too, using the effects on the camera as well as trying to use photoshop.

You can't disable the games I don't think but mine haven't ever really bothered with them.

This is an example of the photos they produce with it.

My 7 year old still loves her kiddie zoon camera. I don't usually like vtech but camera has been a massive hit.

My 6 year old DD loves her kiddizoom. She doesn't use the games, just the camera and the editing part.

Both my kids have had them dd1 got hers at 5, dd2 got hers at 3. Really good quality, eldest has had hers for 11 years (found it in a box when having a sort out and it still works! 😂)

DD had hers for 5th birthday and loves it. Another that doesn't play the games as too excited taking photos and 'editing' them.
