Dh and I are heading in to the Tate Britain right now. I've got to get back to the car near Russell Square by 4pm but other than that I'm going to have a few hours to see a bit of London and its a lovely day.Any advice of what to do?

I'm happy to get on and off the tube again. I like history and seeing the sights but I don't really want to go into another exhibition after we've seen the van Gogh.

Thank you! [Grin]

The Sky Garden? They have walk ins available now and if it's a lovely day you should be able to see for miles.

Get one of the Thames clippers from the pier opposite Millbank tower to say bank side, walk around the south bank and borough market.

Walk in Green Park/St James's Park. Shops of Seven Dials/Covent Garden (former less "touristy" than the latter), lunch at the National Gallery cafe (no need to see the pictures) stroll up to the Lamb pub Lamb's Conduit St just round the corner from Russell Sq. Wonderful old Victorian pub with original features.

Thank you lovely mumsnetters for the suggestions. My head is spinning from seeing many paintings. We are going to have coffee and assess these options, all sound great.

Borough market for lunch ?

ZenNudist · 01/08/2019 12:22

Waiting for the clipper and on to borough market for lunch. Having so much fun might extend parking ticket. Thank you for the ideas. Much needed inspiration!

If you're heading over to the borough market area go up the Monument. Lovely views on a clear day and you'll walk off some of your lunch!

Loving the boat. Bit different and getting to see some sights. Such a good idea @FrankiesKnuckle. 😎

Glad to hear it .

Bit tight perhaps timewise but a clipper to Greenwich , or even a train, then its only a short walk to the market and the park etc .
