I’m decorating. With gin. Which makes decorating much more fun but also slower. Have committed to painting one last walk, then I’m going to bed. Why are you up? (I’m also massively procrastinating, if you didn’t already guess.)

Baby still awake! I've been in to try settle him, played him some music but hasn't helped!

While he's not crying I'm just letting him get on with been awake hoping he will drop off by himself!

I had a nightmare.

Baby is finally asleep! And now I can't drop back off, bloody typical!

Got a new puppy yesterday, she’s slept beautifully all night without a peep, I on the other hand got myself all stressed out and worried about whether we’d done the right thing and have an an awful sleep. Now got a nervous tum. Know we have done but all the anxiety just hit me!

I have to leave the house in about 40 minutes to catch a train to Manchester. I had a couple of hours nap earlier (I am always doing these horrible o'clock trips to bookselling events: I never manage to go to bed early enough to let myself sleep properly because I get into a flap about oversleeping and missing the train and having to buy another, more expensive ticket...)

DS(4) woke me up nearly 2 hours ago. I took him back to bed and he's been fast since. I'm still awake feel so tired but just can't nod off.

Been awake since 2am busy feeding my little one, then expressing milk, then put him down... only for him to decide he wanted another feed 10 minutes later.

All the while my wife is happily snorring next to us with no care in the world.
Slightly resenting the fact that her boobs are no milk making machines right now...

Got woken up by the weirdest noise, sounded like a massive sheet of metal being blown down the street. Now I can't sleep (mumsnet probably not helping...)

Arrived home from NZ early this morning. Kept going all day and fell into bed at about 7pm - only to ping awake at 12.30. 4 hours and two large brandies later I'm starting to feel sleepy again, so I'm hoping I'll manage a few hours more sleep before I have to drag myself out of bed at 8am.

Up with a DC and my back hurts. Not been to sleep yet. Greetings to all the other reluctant night owls.

Been awake since 3am - I’m 35 weeks pregnant and at that really uncomfortable stage. Only managing a few hours a night now. Exhausted.

Too much wine. Was asleep but woke needing water and a wee about 90 mins ago and now hangover kicking in...gotta be up in couple of hours...self-inflicted, no sympathy!

In the airport waiting for a flight to Zante

Sorry, not in the uk but in Australia, having a very boring day packing as we're moving house on Monday. Then flying to the uk on Wednesday for our first trip home since we emigrated. It all seemed like such a good idea at the time, now I'm convinced we'll never get it all done!

In Buenos Aires (1.15am). It’s my penultimate night here following 3 weeks in Argentina for work. Just returned from my farewell dinner held by colleagues. Thinking how best to make the most of my last day before a long journey home.

At the stage now of wondering whether to give up on sleep 'tonight' altogether.

Baby woke at 4.45, then at 4.50 I heard a noise which was next door getting broken into. Called the police etc.
Baby never went back to sleep and neither have I. I'm so tired
