Holiday camp woes

Ugh I feel terrible. DS is in an very small outdoorsy type camp all week as I’m working and his dad isn’t on the scene. He super into anything muddy/wet so I thought he’d love it but he’s spent the whole evening crying his eyes out about having no friends there and how six of the older boys call him names all day and ban him from being near them. He is a full on 6 year old and I can see why older boys may find him annoying but this obviously can’t go on.

I’ve sent an email to the organisers asking for a word at drop off tomorrow and I’ve calmed DS down enough to sleep but I’m a little ball of anxiety. He’s only booked in for 4 more days over the summer hols so if I can’t get it sorted I will cobble together another plan but I need to pull on my big girl pants and have a discussion with the organisers in the morning.

Any pointers about how to approach it. I’m not the sort to go in shouting the odds. More likely to end up crying.

Poor you. If you end up crying, that’s okay. It shouldn’t be happening and the organisers should be supervising a 6 year old much better. Tell them how upset he has been and ask them to make sure the behaviour doesn’t continue. Hopefully, they will be mortified and do something about it.
