I have an 8 and 5 year old, I’ve never been since having kids, last went when I was a teenager! Are there enough rides for kids? Any tips for going in summer holidays?! 😬

At that age you've got plenty to do in CBeebies Land, Cloud Cuckoo Land and bits of Mutiny Bay. It is a fair trek between different parts of the park so depends on how much the DC like walking.

If you stay at one of the hotels you get in to the park an hour early - might be worth considering to try to avoid some of the queues.

Other than that you need to be prepared to queue a lot. At that age I would probably look to go outside of the main holidays. Depending on when your schools go back the 2nd/3rd September might be quieter or do you have an inset day that you could use instead.

Yeah, tell your kids not to run the staff over on the "driving school" ride!

On a more serious note, DD works there so if you have any questions I'll ask her :)
