When I did jury duty everyone wore smart clothes the first day by the second I noticed people seemed alot more casual. I stuck with the smart clothes for the 5 days

I did jury service last year, loved every minute of it. On my first day I wore what I would have worn to work (dress over leggins, dolly shoes) but really, you don't need to worry about what to wear. There was an extremely wide variety of clothing being worn: jeans, trainers, shorts, T-shirts, 1 person (think goth-type clothing) with a fluffy unicorn backpack and massive head phones.

Be prepared for LOTS of waiting around so just wear what you feel comfortable in. My jury service was in the middle of a heatwave so people just dressed appropriately for that.

I say dress as you would normally, you are about to give your own opinion 100%, so stay true to yourself. As others have said,
be neat and tidy and prepared to be boiling or freezing.
I did jury service in a heatwave about six years ago and the barristers agreed to disrobe (apologies if that's not the correct terminology!) due to faulty air con.
Aside from clothing, depending on the case, it can be very intense. Be prepared for loads of emotions you may not be expecting. I learnt a huge amount from it.

I was so excited about doing jury service ... it was not exciting !!! It's just loads of sitting around ... but I met some nice people !

This is a good thread OP. Thank you. I start my jury service next week. Need to really read everything I've been sent.

When I did it the vast majority wore jeans and trainers. Just wear comfy stuff as there's lots of sitting around.

I got called up last year and wore jeans and trainers every day. So did practically everyone else.
