I've always wanted validation from men.

In my teens I was looking for validation from men that I was attractive

In my twenties I used validation from men to know I was desirable

In my thirties I felt I was worthy of men’s attention as I looked my best (IMO)

In my forties, attention from men has waned, but my self confidence has increased.

Why has the majority of my life been based on what men think of me?

Just trying to rationalise why I never feel good enough - looking for approval I suppose.

How is your relationship with male family members? Often patterns of behaviour are related to things you've experienced or witnessed within a family dynamic.

I've been guilty of this too OP, I've put it down to low self esteem.

Doesn't get you anywhere though, does it. I've started caring less too (38), it's fucking liberating.
