Was fired from my job 3 weeks ago due to poor attendance. I have been struggling with migraines and poor mental health.
Been applying for work but not yet been offered so much as an interview. Not really well enough to be at work anyway. Signed on for universal credit but not heard anything or had any money through.
Former work have just sent me final salary payment of £30 - should have been over £1000 but they have taken my training fees out of my pay!!!
Wtf am I going to do???

Check your contract about the training fees. I know it's common for them to be recouped if you resign but I'm not sure about if you are fired. I don't know that they can do that. Maybe speak to Acas.

Contact whoever you owe money to in terms of bills and negotiate a delay.

I can't find my contact. I've moved house twice since starting and I've no idea where it got moved to.

Perhaps post in Employment Issues as someone in HR might have an idea whether it's normal when you're fired. Do you remember signing anything when you did training or do you have access to a copy of the company handbook? Could you ask a former colleague about their contract?

Universal credit is paid on a monthly basis so you won't have received a payment yet. You can log on to your online account to see when an expected payment is due. You need to send a message online to your job coach and ring for an advance payment. That'll then be deducted from the future payments you receive. Go to the job centre and produce your most recent pay slip/bank payment from work to show you only received the payment from them vs what was expected as proof of income. In the mean time you can visit your local CAB and they'll provide a food bank voucher (this will also provide a gas/electric token if applicable). Ring all your creditors and state you are waiting on a UC payment. Ask for any outstanding bills to be frozen in respect of interest (CAB can negotiate on your behalf). Speak to your Payroll dept at previous employment and request a payment plus reasonable deduction I regards to the costs of training.

Make a GP appointment in respect of your mental health and request a fitnote (old style sicknote) and drop it in at the job centre. That'll help towards your current claim if you're not fit for work, and back up the fact you were let go from your job.
