What do you do once it's ' your time ?'

So kids in bed, dishwasher loaded / home from work etc . What's your signal that your winding down ?
I've just wandered into the bedroom ( followed by the cat) who expects an ear rub whilst she's flat out on the bed. I've undressed one handed, flung my bra on the chair (bliss) and about to put on pjs and chill out.
What about you ?

I watch all the stuff I want to see. When my husband is in, we have to watch stuff we both want to see (bar his exemptions for football, Tour de France, Vuelta de Espana and Giro di Italia), which is a small Venn diagram intersection I can tell you, and I never get to see Dinnerladies, Poldark or The Real Housewives of Cheshire! Except when I get the house to myself.

Fairylea · 30/07/2019 20:54

Paint my nails, watch crap on Netflix or whatever reality tv show I’ve missed. Eat chocolate or cake. Grin

CakeNinja · 30/07/2019 20:57

I just slope up and retire to bed when I’m ready!
I miss the days of having young Kids who would be put to the bed and the rest of the evening was ours. I was a SAHM for years and that was my treat (other than actually enjoying being home with the dc!).
These days I’m back at work (in a school) and walk with my youngest there and back anyway. The older ones are teens and there’s just no time when they are all in bed and I’m not! I miss time on my own.

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 30/07/2019 21:01

I watch Bond films. No question.

BackforGood · 30/07/2019 21:51

Oops, I thought this was about 'your time to leave this mortal planet' Grin

Pigletthedog · 30/07/2019 22:03

Ah. Me time. I vaguely remember that. I have a DSS who goes to bed later than us, a 10 year old who still wants to be put to bed (lovely really) and an 18 month old who refuses to go to bed so....Sad

If I did have me time, I'd read, and be quiet and have a nice glass of wine and not fucking talk to anyone Grin

crankyassnoperope · 30/07/2019 22:10

Once I'm sure no-one's going to either scream at me with their foot stuck in their cot bars or follow me in and explain for the five-hundredth time that I "don't have a willy" I take a shower. A blissful, scream-free, totally on my own shower.

Mokepon · 30/07/2019 22:11

I read.
And read. And drink wine whilst I read.

Or watch Masterchef when it's on. Or perhaps a well recommended tv series which isn't too long. I like things with 6 episodes or so McMafia and the like.

Mostly I enjoy my people not talking to me or expecting me to find stuff for them. I do love them all but they are quite demanding most of the time 😁.

Pinkarsedfly · 30/07/2019 22:12

Bath, in my lovely bathroom, with candles and a book.

Or sit in the conservatory and read or knit.

Mokepon · 30/07/2019 22:13

@Pigletthedog absolutely second the not fucking talking.
I get to a point and I really just can't listen anymore. Ear fatigue.

bonzo77 · 30/07/2019 22:16

Pick my feet and scroll through my phone.

Iamthewombat · 30/07/2019 22:28

Oooh yes, not talking or listening! Bliss.

SadieContrary · 30/07/2019 22:29

Long, hot bath with my book/kindle/magazine or my guilty pleasure of lying playing crappy games on my phone

JustKeepIt · 30/07/2019 22:30

Drink, smoke and watch telly.

The odd occasion we will go out to eat/have a few drinks.

Boring really but what else can you do for 4 hours when you're drained and tired Grin
