My friend has been going on about going to Bongo Bingo for a while, so we are now going.

I had to google it as I didn't have a clue what she was on about & to be honest I'm still non the wiser, a pissed up bingo is that basically it?!

Has anyone been to one & can give me a bit more of an insight?

TIA Grin

Do you mean Bogan Bingo?

Titsywoo · 30/07/2019 18:50

If that's the one you mean it's very very funny. You don't have to be pissed but it helps WinkGrin. It's just really silly bingo with two aussie bingo callers and there are lots of jokes and silly prizes etc.

Yeah we went to Bongo Bingo over christmas, it is pissed up bingo, its a laugh, never been to bingo before but we all had a really good laugh.

I went on Saturday. There is lots of dancing on the benches and lots of alcohol with bingo games inbetween. Prizes included a cardboard cutout of Philip Schofield/Henry Hoover/karaoke machine etc. for one line, a bottle of spirits for two lines and then cash for a full house. The cash increased each game until the last one when ir wad £750.

I had a great time!

I think you need to be really rather drunk to enjoy it, IME. I don't think I could face it sober.

Lots of dancing on tables and shouting at people. Music has a retro school disco vibe (depending on how old you are, I guess) And coco pops. Coco pops everywhere.

It's somewhere on that fine line between bloody good fun and hell on earth. I suspect which side of the line it falls on depends on how drunk you are.

I want to go now.

Yeah I agree with this, we was very drunk

HilaryBriss · 30/07/2019 19:34

I'd forgotten about the coco pops 😂

Agree that it's not very fun sober - lots of getting up and down on benches for short dance breaks! It's a good night out, though my advice would be to drink beforehand as the prices can be extortionate. Lots of prizes up for grabs, from food and drink to cardboard cutouts and £££! And if you're lucky, you might get some celebrity guests... my friend went to one where S Club 7 (or the remnants of) performed Grin

I think it sounds horrendous but then again I am a miserable cow Smile

MissCalamity · 30/07/2019 20:16

Oh dear god!! Well we'll probably be on the way to being drunk as we're going on a girls weekend away so will be travelling up on the train with a few beverages that day Wink
The retro disco vibe would definitely suit us just turned 40 year olds GrinWine
Cheers!

I haven't done Bongo Bingo myself, but I have seen photos from friends. None of the photos featured Bingo tbh, but I believe that cards are available Grin They did enjoy it so I'd go for it!
