I have a DS(19) who is home from university for the summer and DD(14).
I don't drive and I'm pretty much a single parent but I'm looking to take the kids away for a few days in the middle of August.
I obviously need to rely on public transport getting to our destination etc.
We usually go to a cottage somewhere in the UK with (D)H, who drives but that doesn't look possible for this year.
I'm in South-east England and looking at cottages around Cambridge or that sort of distance but I've just considered Butlins at Bognor Regis.
My friend goes there with her teenage son EVERY SUMMER and raves about it and although the reviews mostly look ok, they're usually from people with young children.
I'm just asking for advice as to whether my 19 yr old and 14 yr old would get enough out of it (it certainly isn't a cheap four days away!)
My son is fairly active and 19, so I can't tell him what to do but my 14 yr old would happily sit with her phone and Xbox all day if I let her, so neither are particularly outgoing types that would disappear to go and make friends etc like my friend's son does.
Basically, after my essay, I'm asking if anyone has been there and what did you think! 😆
