Fucking fucking DHL- any ideas on how to contact them?

I’m expecting a parcel from uk mail/DHL and it has mysteriously been sent back to the depot instead of being delivered before 9am as it was supposed to be.

I’ve tried calling several different numbers including their Coventry “customer services” number which is a purely automated service. I can’t find any other number for them that gets me through to a human! I’ve also tried Facebook and email and there’s just no response from them.

Has anyone here ever managed to speak to a human at Drop it Hide it Lose it?

You don’t. You’re not their customer. You contact the sender/retailer and they contact DHL

So even though DHL have my parcel and are bringing it to my house and I want to collect it from them, I have to contact the person who sent it?

No. Never. The person/company sending the parcel may be able to call them though.

What is the parcel? I had this happen a couple of times because the purchase (mobile phones) had been incorrectly flagged as fraudulent by the company sending the parcel and they recalled it.

It’s a new camera body from jessops. It was showing as out for delivery at 8.54am to be delivered by 9am and then never arrived. When I checked next it just says returned to depot. They definitely didn’t come to my house, I was washing up in the kitchen and have a direct view of the street, driveway and front door.

As the previous poster has said, the best thing to do is to get in touch with the sender and let them sort it out - it's happened to me a couple of times.

God, they’re so shit! I don’t get why companies still use them. What’s wrong with Royal Mail?

Thanks all

I've collected something that was mysteriously returned to depot from Coventry DHL before. They weren't keen but they did let me. I contacted them on Twitter but I'm not sure if they still use it, I know one of the big parcel companies has given it up.

Alpacathebag · 30/07/2019 13:33

Ah I don’t use twitter. I’ve tried Facebook but no response.

It was probably wrongly scanned out for delivery and never left the depot. I'd just wait a few hours and the status will probably update. In the meantime you should contact jessops rather than DHL, because they have the account with them and might actually be able to do something.

NoBaggyPants · 30/07/2019 13:43

Does the online tracking not give you options for redelivery/ collection?

I got a response to a private message on Facebook. Can't say how helpful they would have been as the parcel turned up in the meantime!

SugarButterFlour · 30/07/2019 13:45

I had issues with a DHL recently. Managed to get through on live chat - although did have to wait an age for that.

Alpacathebag · 30/07/2019 17:20

@NoBaggyPants it never updated. Ridiculous.

I took the suggestion of contacting jessops and they called them and arranged for me to pick it up from the depot. Just got back now. Thanks for the suggestions all.

DHL are so rubbish. DH has just told me he has something else coming via them tomorrow too.
