Hello,

My dh and I are going to Dublin for a weekend in September. Has anyone got any recommendations for restaurants? Should I book Friday and Saturday night?

Thanks

Drinks wise my recommendations traditional and best pint of Guinness Keoghs near Brown Thomas. Cocktails try Vintage Cocktail Bar really cool but you must book. Live music and generally music wise Whelans is brilliant short taxi ride away.!

Dublin is a great place once you know where to avoid. Wink. Go with the natives as always.

OP I don't know how energetic you are or what you are into or what you plan to see either, but as a suggestion, go across from your hotel over the Tram Bridge, turn right after the Station entrance, then next left and a little stroll brings you to the Royal Hospital which houses the Museum of Modern Art. A hidden gem. Glorious grounds, lovely coffee and the views are something else.

Just a suggestion, because I know myself I could be nursing a bit of a hangover after a night on the town in Dublin and wouldn't care what I could see!

Thanks for all the advice

I'm mostly thinking of doing the Guinness factory, whisky tasting and the tour bus but the modern art museum sounds nice. Good to know about cocktails in the hotel too. Smile

Just as an aside, Phoenix Park is near were you are staying and in its the biggest park in Europe.
Lots of deers and wildlife spotting to be done. With ice Van's around in the summer for the kids
Also a Zoo there too, if that's your thing.
Enjoy, hope you get the nice weather

Thanks! We'll have a wander in there if the weather behaves itself :)

I had the best steak of my life at an FX Buckley, definitely go there.

Bobo's is a nice burger place, very casual but nice food. I had a veggie burger and my husband had a normal one.
