I thought it would be nice to share photos of places visited over the summer holidays for the purpose of sharing pictures of beautiful places and inspiring others to visit new places.

Yesterday I took the children by train to Grindleford in the Peak District. We walked up through Padley Gorge, up to Surprise view, and then down in to Hathersage. It was a 6 mile walk and ds is only 4 and did it with enthusiasm and no complaints.

We live not too far from the Peaks and visit fairly often but it never fails to amaze me with its beauty.

Does no one have any adventures to share? Sad Maybe it's too early yet as they haven't been broken up from school for very long. I am hoping for a thread full of lovely pictures to inspire us allSmile

Aw, I'd really hoped for a thread full of photos of fantastic places to visit but guess this one got lost.

We got the train to Edale last week and walked up Mam Tor. Not for the faint hearted especially in 26 degrees but the views are worth every drop of sweat. It's beautiful all year so we will go again in the autumn.
