Annual holiday disappointment

Just checked the weather, rain forecast the whole time we are there. I realise I’m lucky to have a holiday, but DD has additional needs so it’s the same destination, same apartment, same cafes, same getting up at 5 am.... if the weather is good at least it’s easier. DH just happy he’s not at work and Im just dreading it because it’s not a holiday
for me. Self pity party.

St Ives is lovely to mooch around, visited recently, I think even in the rain - a nice cup of something near the beach. I know it isn't the same with the weather not being so good but being next to the sea is something that I really enjoy - watching the surf etc (and no doubt there will be people surfing etc. even in the rain). I had low expectations this year because I have young dc and actually I found it really helped. There are some lovely coves round and about with cafes. I think St Ives also has a leisure centre with a pool for a swim? Hope someone who lives locally/knows the area well will come along with more suggestions. Plus fingers crossed it won't rain all the time - the rain in Cornwall, I believe can be localised at times. Can you sling a coat on and have a bit of me time?

Hey op, it's looking less rainy for your week

Hey OP. I feel for you and hope the forecast is wrong. I think you need to make clear to your DHS that you need a break too. Maybe you can have even just an hour a day for you where you can have some time alone. And also he could take it in turns to make decisions about what to do each day? Pre warn him and tell him before you go how important it is to you to get a break from that.

Does your dd swim? Swimming can take a good half day if you combine it with lunch/coffee and cake somewhere.

I hope you manage to enjoy your holiday.

We had a week of rain in Lanzarote of all places which sucked. We spent half the time watching TV in our apartment which thankfully was one of the ones that didn't leak.

I feel your pain.
