New home gift box

jonesyyy · 29/07/2019 18:37

Brother and SIL have just purchased their first home and will be moving out soon.

I am thinking of doing them a gift box of sorts with things in for their home, does anyone have any ideas of what I could put in there?

Thanks!

Local takeaways menus
Taxi firm cards
Scissors
String
Can opener
Wine
Chocolates
Vase
Screwdriver set
Allen keys

Thinking about when we bought ours and the things we needed the day we moved in:

A toilet roll, cleaning wipes, snacks, a bottle of bubbly and plastic glasses, hand wash, washing up liquid, sponges, etc. Emergency items essentially (minus the bubbles!)

Thanks both, some good ideas there that I didn't think of!

Toilet roll, basic cleaning stuff (polish, cloths, wipes etc), maybe some basics for the cupboards (beans, sauces), a takeaway voucher for Just Eat or similar?

Teabags and coffee
Cans or bottles and snacks which can be eaten and drunk while running around and unpacking
A nice home magazine to get excited about all the things they can do
Hand towel and tea towel

When I've done this for people I included foil, cling film, basic cleaning items, toilet role, soap, washing up liquid, sponges
