Licking a bath bomb

Dd is freaking out as she licked one yesterday and now thinks she's going to die. She's a teen.
I've googled and can't find anything except Youtubers licking them and advice (obviously) not to eat them or feed them to pets. I honestly can't see what harm about from the taste it can have done. Does anyone know different? Her tongue is fine, no burning etc.
I'm at work so apologies for any delay in responding - please be nice !

Um... Is this real?

PivotPivotPivottt · 29/07/2019 09:53

My 7 year old always licks them 🙄

IWouldPreferNotTo · 29/07/2019 09:54

They are mostly bicarb with a bit of perfume and colour. Not exactly one of your 5 a day but not too terrible to lick.

SouthWestmom · 29/07/2019 09:56

Yes it's real - dd is super anxious about everything so I know it sounds daft

Logic suggests if she were going to have any adverse effects, she would have had them by now.

Point out she's not dead yet, and to stop being over-dramatic Grin

Do you really think they would sell something that could kill someone if they just licked it?

What Hope has your daughter got if you couldn’t instantly set her mind at rest over this ridiculousness?

If you ate it I imagine you would be sick but one lick is really not going to do anything other than taste awful depending on your taste buds!

I hope you’ve warned her that there are far worse things in life that she will probably end up licking. Wink

FreddiesMammy · 29/07/2019 09:59

It won’t do any harm at all

SouthWestmom · 29/07/2019 09:59

Thank you, lovely common sense I'm going to show her the thread.

Does she display this is other ways?

Contamination type OCD or similar?

SouthWestmom · 29/07/2019 10:06

No, just this stuff

Licked a bath bomb?did she think it was a gobstopper?

bobstersmum · 29/07/2019 10:40

Why on earth did she lick it if she's so anxious?
