3rd c section confusion

Somethings been really bugging me & just thought I would share incase anyone had some insight

So I've had 3 c sections each 2.5 years apart. The last was 5 years ago. Coming up to the 3rd c section I had requested to be steralised & was due to be done after the section. However..the surgeon said she decided she wouldnt as i was still young (28 at the time) but then went on to say not to have anymore any time soon as my uterus was quite thin Hmm I was too out of it at the time to question things & eager to hold my newborn son. But all these years later I still wonder how she could refuse to tie my tubes because I was young but in the same breath advise against further pregnancies? Anyone any ideas why she would do this? I'm almost thinking I should make a gp appointment to see if I can find out from hospital notes or something although all these years have passed but it still bothers me to this day

Should have said the surgeon made the decision not to steralise me while stitching me up from the c section, then once stitched up told me no more babies

I'm not sure OP but a brief glance on the NHS suggests they prefer to do it on women over 30 so perhaps your age was a factor?

I suppose not having any more “any time soon” would still give you chance to have more babies in the future after a long gap given you were only 28.

The NHS do not routinely sterilise people under 30 even if they have had children already.

I would ask to see your GP to discuss your options.

Thank you both, I dont want any more children but really bothers me that I was asked did I want steralised and I said yes the whole way through only to be told it wouldnt be done at the end. Suppose it was just down to my age then thanks guys
