Does anyone have any bad back cures?

Just that really, I have had a bad back for about 8 years, damaged it moving house and it's been painful since, had a serious relapse and ended up in A & E about 4 years ago with it, I have strong painkillers to take when needs must. Physio hasn't helped, diagnosis from doctor is a possible slipped disc, muscles in spasm to protect it. At times it's total agony and I'm miserable. Has anyone had sports massage? Seen a chiropractor? Anything that had helped please advise!

I went to see a physio and she suspected SI joint issues. Gave me exercises to do and after 8 weeks im back into running. Something i had to give up for a while.

Its not great but at least i get out of bed like a woman of my age, not a 80 yr old.

I am currently off work with appalling back pain. Have had problems on and off for 25 years. This most recent bought is due to sacro iliac joint destabilising. I find it utterly miserable. I have adapted my life so much over the years. Anyway...when pain is acute and you are in spasm, diazepam and very strong pain killers. When getting better, don't push it too much. Ice helps when inflamed. Positive mental attitude helps but it is really hard sometimes when you are in constant pain.

pilates.

I hate it.

I find it both boring and simultaneously difficult. But it allows me to get through my week without painkillers or paying out 50 quid for a chiropractor.

Pilates saved me. It is hard but it works. I had a disc herniation. Six months of twice a week Pilates with an instructor either one to one or small group sorted it completely. Can't recommend it highly enough if you are motivated.
