And if so, is it worth it?

Anyone?

Heratnumber7 · 28/07/2019 20:49

What is it?

DobbyTheHouseElk · 28/07/2019 20:50

No I don’t. But I want it.

AnchorDownDeepBreath · 28/07/2019 20:51

No. A bit of me wants it but it's so expensive, and the monthly subscription grates when you've spent so much on the bike!

CestCeleste · 28/07/2019 20:52

I use the app on a normal spin bike. Love the app - would love a bike but they cost £2k

DobbyTheHouseElk · 28/07/2019 20:52

Oh, can you use the app on a regular spinning bike???

I have a spinning bike......

I want them to congratulate me on my ride! 😆

BikeRunSki · 28/07/2019 20:54

Team Ineosha have popped on their way back from Paris. Is that what you meant ?Grin

QuantumWeatherButterfly · 28/07/2019 20:56

@CestCeleste how much is the app on its own? I have a spinning bike too, I'd be very interested in this option.

Rumours0fAHurricane · 28/07/2019 21:07

A bit of me wants it too but at around 2k just for the bike, it seems a bit mad. Is it a spin bike does anyone know?

I think the monthly subscription is 40 quid

Nah, if I was going to train at home I’d use a smart turbo + road bike + zwift

Cheaper than the £2k peleton bike and cheaper ongoing subscription

CestCeleste · 28/07/2019 21:13

£20 a month. Which works out ok if you do it enough.
The instructors are brilliant - far better than at your average spin class. I love Cody Rigby, Jess King and the British guy Ben.
Music is pretty good. You can preload classes in advance if you intend doing the class when you are not on WiFi. So eg if you go to the gym.
I just watch the classes on my phone.
There is a bit of chat around what sort of cadence you should be doing which is specific to a peloton bike but I’ve not found that to matter than much.
You can do a 14 day free trial if you want to try it

Fazednotc0nfused · 28/07/2019 21:16

No I’ve got Smart turbo trainer + bike + Zwift

BarbaraofSeville · 28/07/2019 21:38

No, but the comments on the FB adverts are hilarious.

Obviously I get the woman targetted advert, which features a slim toned woman on her peleton bike in an immaculate house with a baby asleep in shot.

Predictably the comments are of the 'I'd definitely buy that if it got my baby to sleep' or 'I'd hope it does clean the house like that at that price'. Grin

Arnoldthecat · 28/07/2019 21:58

My peleton is in the garage and it costs me nothing to get up and go out on it.

evilharpy · 28/07/2019 22:11

I have a free trial of the app which I’m just using with my normal spin bike. It’s about £20 a month if I decide to subscribe. There’s a huge variety of classes. I like Denis Morton best.

I’ve been going to spin classes since 2004 and use the Les Mills On Demand app to do RPM, Sprint and The Trip at home, so I don’t miss being able to see my speed/cadence as you can with the peloton bike. And I’m not interested in leaderboards or shout outs - I just want the workout.

QuantumWeatherButterfly · 28/07/2019 22:18

@evilharpy do you find the spin content on Les Mills is extensive enough? Does it change regularly?

evilharpy · 29/07/2019 08:53

Each program has a new release every three months or so (in kine with gyms but the LMOD releases are a few months behind the gyms). And the back catalogue is there. There’s plenty of variety. You can sign up for a free trial.

BuzzShitbagBobbly · 29/07/2019 10:08

nah, I'll stick with spin bike / turbo / app or outdoors. It's way overpriced for kit that is going to be expensive when it goes wrong or becomes obsolete etc.
