Visiting Shrewsbury

Hi, we are visiting Shrewsbury by train in the holidays-just a day trip but could be persuaded to stay overnight. I used to go to school there when I was a child and want to show my children around.
We are booked onto a tour of the jail and I'll take them to The Quarry, Dingle, and my old school.

What else is good to do?

Market Hall is good for lunch.

The museum at the music hall is really lovely and great for kids now its been modernised, and the Stop cafe below is good too (not sure when you were last in Shrewsbury)
You could wander up to the castle and the statue of Darwin at the library.
There's a pizza/bagels eat-in place called Dough and Oil thats also kid-friendly and fun, if you come out of the castle and start walking into town its on the right.
There's a crepes/waffles/milkshakes place called Chez Sophie at the bottom of Pride Hill.
Depends how old your kids are! Smile

Thank you. The children are 12,10 and 4. Is there an ice cream place? I know sidoli's doesn't exist anymore as I went in 2006 and was disappointed it had gone. Fond memories of knickerbocker glories as a child!
We are going today Smile
