Just took a photo of this on our apple tree in our run of the mill London garden. Would love to know what it is. I have googled but can’t find out!

Beautiful! I read yesterday that these are becoming a more common sight on the UK mainland thanks to global warming.
I've only ever seen it in the Channel Islands.
