She thinks it sounds like an amazing place to live, it's my idea of hell. She is 11 and reasonably extrovert, I like to be able to escape from people. Grin

I had no idea what this was and had to google it! Can’t believe I hadn’t heard of it.

I’m not sure what I think of it! Part of me thinks it’s genius and an amazing way to live. The other part thinks, well, that it’s just a bit odd?! Why not just travel where you want, when you want, rather than living on a ship?!

There are so many off putting things, like all the other passengers are going to be bored, idle, super-rich types (I'm thinking Paris Hilton) or networking, super-rich types (Trump wannabes).

The only positives that I can think of is that you don't have to pack and unpack your suitcase every time you change location, and you own the apartment so can have the exact mattress and pillows that you want (I often get a sore neck or back when staying in a hotel).

You’re stuck with the same people every holiday! Not good if they are like your descriptions!

Agree on the positives. Does it constantly go to new places? Who decides where they go?

It’s a pretty fugly ship to look at. I’m sure it’s v bling inside but big cruisers are massive polluters so I wouldn’t spend my money that way, if I had it.

Plus, when it came to Falmouth I motored my boat past for a nosey as were going out for a sail and I promptly ran over a massive clump of seaweed and fouled the prop! So I don’t like it anyway. Angry

They apparently decide destinations by owner vote two years in advance. Some of the trips sound fascinating, they navigated the North-West passage one year.

I think I’d hate it if they voted to go round the bottom tip of South America to Antarctica
My cousin who was an engineer with some of the big cruise liners, Cunard, Holland America and P and O said they nearly ended up in Davy Jones locker on that trip.
It was only the skill of the captain who ignored the advice of the pilots who wanted him to go sideways into the storm that all crew and passengers lives weren’t lost in the storm.

I had a look at what's coming up and they are going to Antartica in December 2020. I'd love to go around the bottom of South America, my Mum was in Ushuaia/Tierra del Fuego and said it was beautiful.

That's mad! I never heard of it either. It's a really weird idea!
