Has anyone's toddler had two rows of teeth come in together?

DD2 17 mos has been off nursery today with a temp and bad teething pain. She is normally very calm but today got so bad that after Calpol and Nurofen and teething gel she was still really hysterical.

I took a closer look and saw what seemed to be a ridge of food trapped behind the top two front teeth. I tried brushing it away but it wouldn't come and it looks like in fact another set of two teeth coming in behind the first lot.

I rang our dentist's to see if they could recommend any additional pain relief as she was so bad and the nurse I spoke to was kindly but very sceptical and said such a thing would be very rare.

Has anyone's child had this?

It's probably an accessory palatial cusp

What is that.....? It looks like separate teeth rather than "more points" on an existing tooth.

Could be supernumerary tooth/ teeth.

Are supernumerary teeth adult teeth that come early or just additional baby teeth?

She is a twin and it looks like her brother has it, too!

This happened to one of mine. They shifted and went into one line in the end.

Just additional baby teeth. It can happen with adult teeth too when they come in.
Will need monitored by dentist throughout childhood to check extra teeth aren't causing any issues with eruption of adult teeth etc. Hope the teething pain settles soon.
