Cooling down rooms in a heatwave

Right wise ones.. how in the name of feck do you cope in this heat? Without air con (seriously if one more person with aircon says it’s not that warm I’m hijacking their unit). I’ve managed to get our bedroom from 26 to 23.5 with us in it tonight.. fan on full blast, windows open from “dusk” and enough cold wet towels and muslins to fill a laundrette. There’s a tray of ice water infront of the fan and I’ve sprayed everything with cold water (curtains n all).

Haven’t opened the curtains in days..

Have I missed any tricks? I can’t stand the heat.. not even like nice holiday abroad humid heat.

I’m wearing a wet t shirt to bed,

I’ve just showered then put a wet t shirt on.
Ice packs in front of the fan.
It’s 30 in my bedroom.

I've frozen hot water bottles and placed them in beds before we get in.
I've opened the loft hatch so the heat can keep rising
Cool shower before bed
Cool spray at side of bed

Soaked a towel in cold water, wrung it out and now lying under it. Doesn't help room temp, but is helping mine!
