So, I have decided to ditch disposables. For various reasons the idea of a mooncup makes me queasy so washable sanitary towels it is. But what to buy? I also love the idea of period pants. Perhaps TMI, but my periods last about 4 days, are mediumly heavy i think but start and end very very lightly. For days! Can anyone recommend a brand and how many. I don't have a tumble drier if that makes a difference! Thank you!

Modibodi are great. You don't tumble dry them and they can take a while to dry so you will probably need a couple of days worth. I use 3 pairs in 24 hours on the first 2 or 3 days then 2 pairs for the last couple of days. Would probably be fine with one pair on the last day but prefer to change them.

I've got some imse vimse ones. They are great. I got a set pack with 3 different sizes, probably called a starter pack or something. I don't have a tumble drier, never been a problem. If hung up indoors they dry overnight.

This is just about the best change I've ever made. I used to be plagued by thrush and cystitis every month but I very, very rarely have any problems since I switched. They're also way more comfy and less smelly than disposables.
You shouldn't dry them in the tumble dryer or over the radiator so not having a tumble dryer will be no problem.

I use Earthwise Girl, I bought them online about 3 or 4 years ago. They seemed quite expensive at the time but they're still going strong and I've not bought another sanitary product since.

Thank you. Super helpful. Cheeky wipes are the brand I'd heard of. Anyone use them?

Bumping for you OP because I've also been looking at cheeky wipes wondering if they are any good

Modibodi weren't around when I was using washable/Mooncup but I have been eying them up recently (bloody post menopause excess discharge)

I had a couple of lovely microfibre washables and thye are lovely against your skin. I also had success with using flannels folded in three. Inside a pair of well fitting knickers they worked well, and easy to wash and dry.

I use cheeky wipes period pants, I mainly chose them as you can buy a pack of 3 for the same price as just one from other brands. I bought the lace top ones as the absorbent area goes all the way from the top of the front to the top of the back so perfect for night time, I've had no leaks at all.
I only have 3 atm, I might buy some more in the future but I'm managing by wearing a pair, having a clean dry pair ready and one pair being washed/drying, I don't have a tumble dryer either and they take maybe 6-8 hours to dry, I haven't really timed it but I've never been stuck with no pants.

I've been using Cheeky Wipes this week as I mislaid my Mooncup. I normally keep them for lighter days.

They work well. I wear them with big pants to keep them in place and have a wash bag with a removal mesh to stash the dirty ones in before washing.
