Who else is melting?

I'm so bloody hot, I'm a sweaty, sticky mess. My hair is damp and I feel grotty. I love the summer but I just can't seem to cool down. Plus I work in an office with no air conditioning so have been hot all day. I just want to sit in my beautifully air-conditioned car!

Can’t you have a fan at work?

OrangeJustice · 25/07/2019 17:42

I’m tempted to pop to M&S Simply Food as a) air con in car on the way b) M&S is freezing all year round and c) could buy nice things.

But I can’t be arsed because it’s too hot.

MyFlabberIsAghast · 25/07/2019 17:44

We've got the tiniest, most ineffectual fan at work which does nothing unless you're 2 inches away from it. I work for the NHS so a better fan won't be forthcoming. I don't have one personally that I can take in and can't afford to buy one.

Me, I’m at home and can’t feel far too hot!

Hairyheadphones · 25/07/2019 17:49

Feel far too hot, don’t know where the can’t came from!

CitadelsofScience · 25/07/2019 17:54

I'm considering taking a garden chair and setting up camp in the local shop, it's got air con in it and it's deliciously cold Grin

I normally love it but it's far too hot for me . I just pegged my washing out and the sweat was dripping off me .
I work in a air condition office so today was great .
On my drive home I've seen a man running and someone walking a dog I mean why ?
My last place has no air do if I worked there still I would have had to go home as it was ridiculous how hot it would get fans did nothing just circulate warm air.

BobbinThreadbare123 · 25/07/2019 18:12

Me too. I hate it. My glasses keep sliding off my nose.

gamerchick · 25/07/2019 18:24

I've filled a fabric bag with rope handles with those blue picnic freeze blocks for work and wore it on my back. Works pretty good for a couple of hours.

Tobebythesea · 25/07/2019 18:31

I hate it. Try coping also being 37 weeks pregnant with a toddler!

MyFlabberIsAghast · 25/07/2019 18:52

@Tobebythesea you have my sympathies....DS2 was born in September and DS2 was 2 at the time...that was bad enough

The rain which fell, accompanied by thunder and lightning, has made no difference to the heat and humidity. If anything, it feels even more oppressive now!! We’ve got fans dotted around the house but I think they are now just moving warm air around.
