Help - baby shower gifts

WombatStewForTea · 25/07/2019 15:26

Mum is a close work colleague but she has very different taste to me and I'm really struggling with what to get. I keep swapping between getting something for her and something for baby.
Added complication is that she doesn't know if it's a boy or a girl and has already bought out the neutral clothing sections of most shops going so buying clothes is deffo out!
I'm pregnant with my first so no experience of what is useful. Was going to get one of those ewan the sheep (recommended by a friend) but someone else has beaten me to it.
Help please!!

Books!

I'd always go with a book for the baby. Can always pair it with a suitable Jellycat teddy (they have all sorts of animals etc so can find any to match any story).

Alternatively, what about a GroBag? Can't have enough of those.

I'd actually looked at these but didn't know if they'd actually be of any use so that's good to know.

I've just investigated the jellycat website and found so much stuff I wan to buy for myself but unfortunately doesn't really fit her quite specific style choice!

The star blanket is a brilliant gift. Nothing worse than trying to get a sleeping baby into a snow suit. Just so easy and practical.

So if I go for the star blanket, for a baby due in September will it be more useful getting the 0-4 months or 4-10 months?

They do come up quite big. I have a December baby who was in the 4-10 month one (which I lost - gutted) at first and went into the bigger one, however they list that, when she was approaching a year.

You can probably get either and it will be used either this winter or next.
