Checking in car seats on Ryanair

We’re flying to Spain with Ryanair soon and everything I can find online says that we can bring one baby item up to 20kg if travelling either a child or infant, we have a 5-yr old and a 3-ye old so are planning to take an HBB and a Britax TWE for them (as we’re hiring a car).

Am I right I’m thinking there’s no point letting Ryanair know in advance - we just take them with us and they package them there and then? Or should we be bubble-wrapping them or similar? I can’t face calling them so thought I’d try on here first 😂

It’s v standard to travel with car seats, you deffo don’t need to tell them.

Just take them but they don’t wrap them (in the uk) they will put them on exactly how you hand them over.

You can take the seats but they won't wrap them. We always put ours in a car seat bag. Usually you take it to the normal check in desk to get it tagged then they direct you to the oversized baggage counter to drop it.

Yes they won’t package them for you...we have a big clear plastic bag from Ikea (think they sell it as a storage bag) that both ours go in together.

It’s very straightforward to do though.
