Speedo's in France with a colostomy.

We are heading to France camping next week with my parents. We were hoping to stop at a site with a pool, but reading the rules, they do not allow board shorts (which is fine for most of us). However, my DF has a colostomy bag which he is embarrassed to show in public. He also has a very large stomach as a result of all his past surgeries and finding speedo's or jammers which fit is problematic in itself. Has anyone any experience of being allowed to wear board shorts in these circumstances? Or should we look at avoiding pool altogether? The last thing I want is for my DF to feel embarrassed.

have you looked on TripAdvisor? I’ve stayed on plenty French campsites where the speedos rule is flouted (usually the ones with a contingent of British and Irish tourists) whereas the campsites that have more French people staying tend to be stricter.

There’s a heatwave here now so plenty people with rash vests in the pool trying to stay cool and not burn, mixed in with teeny tiny bikinis.

Bring a translated doctors note to produce if you’re challenged. But there is a good chance that it won’t be an issue.

Would they be ok with speedos and a rash shirt? He could pick up one fairly cheaply and it would cover his whole abdomen. Sun smart too 😁
