Loved him in The Hitcher.

Great actor RIP

BenWillbondsPants · 24/07/2019 19:39

I saw him in the Hitcher in my teens and was never so creeped out by a film. Loved him from then on. Sad to see he's gone.

mummaminnie · 24/07/2019 19:42

The Hitcher was probably the scariest film I'd ever seen when I watched it. RIP Rutger Sad

TopBitchoftheWitches · 24/07/2019 19:43

Cinammoncake · 24/07/2019 19:50

Yes. Great actor. Sad news

MitziK · 24/07/2019 20:07

Ah, man...

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe,
Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion,
I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate.

All those moments will be lost in time - like tears in rain.

Amazing monologue. Great actor.

It's a shame.

Ladyhawke

NeckPainChairSearch · 24/07/2019 20:20

I was just going to post this thread...I'm very sorry that he's died. I liked him as actor. He was apparently a nice guy too.

It's always baffled me that he never really cracked into A-list roles - for me, he was cut from a similar cloth to Christopher Walken and had more charisma than most.

BoreOfWhabylon · 24/07/2019 20:46

So sad. RIP Rutger.

pointythings · 24/07/2019 20:52

So sad. Ladyhawke is one of my all time favourites. Hauer did all his own sword fights and equestrian stuff too.

Mistlewoeandwhine · 24/07/2019 20:57

I met him once. He was a lovely, polite and intelligent person. Most of his work in later years benefited his charity for women and children affected by AIDs. I am sitting here crying .

Jellykat · 24/07/2019 21:01

Bladerunner is my most favourite film ever, such sad news..
Mitzik that speech on the rooftop in the rain, has me welling up every time i hear it, it still really effects me after all these years and so so many watches..
