Any idea what's causing my bruising?

I have had bruising since Feb. I first noticed a large one that I couldn't remember causing. I often have lots of little ones. Currently I have 9. They appear on my legs, arms and hips mainly lower legs or low thighs. I had blood tests done at the doctors last month which came back fine. My ferritin was 22 and my TSH 4. I have asked the doctor to increase my thyroid meds and am now taking 75mcg rather than 50. I have always bruised quite easily and am forever banging myself but I'm confused as to why I'm getting quite so many. Any ideas?

Which blood tests did you get, OP? Was it a full clotting screen?
Also, are you on any meds apart from thyroxine, as some can cause capillary fragility and easy bruising, eg steroids.

Do you drink alcohol?

HarryPotterFan436 · 24/07/2019 18:34

I had a FBC, plasma viscosity, urea and electrolytes, liver function, c reactive protein, ferritin and tsh.
I am on the mini pill but nothing else. I was on steroids approx a year ago in pregnancy.
No I don't drink alcohol at the moment at all due to breastfeeding.

I had a D-dimer test done in October last year after my baby was born and there were no problems with that.

Is ferritin of 22 ok? I wonder if that's a bit on the low side maybe.
