Friends having issues advice

My friend hasn’t asked for my advice for starters.

Things are going on in her life and some is out of her control. But it’s like watching a car crash in slow motion. I think she is heading for getting sacked. She hasn’t asked for my advice, I haven’t offered it either. Some of her other friends have but it’s not gone down well.

So what’s peoples opinions when they see someone they love making bad decisions? If she was to ask me I think I would say it’s her life and her choices and not get drawn on the subject as I know the other friends advice wasn’t well received. What do others think? If you knew the friend wouldn’t want to hear and or didn’t ask for your opinion

If she hasn't asked for advice , don't give it.

If she is openly discussing with you then ask open ended questions that will make her question her own judgement.

The law states we have the right to make poor decisions if we have the mental capacity to understand the consequences.

I would not give unsolicited advice however I would try to steer the conversation towards what you think the issue is and see if she open up about it so you can talk through but it must be done tactfully
