One week passport fast track application

Has anyone got experience of using the passport fast track for a child?

Went to book a holiday last night for mid August and discovered that dd's passport was not in the folder with the others.

We can get an appointment in a few days at the passport office so should have the passport by the end of next week.

DH wants to book the holiday but I'm worried that we may not get the passport in time.

Would you book a holiday for 3 weeks time in this situation?

What happened to the old passport? That is key I think. You have to declare if it is lost or stolen.

My replacement passport took a week to come using the normal service a couple of weeks ago so I’d risk it.

The passport came back to the house after dd went on a school trip but husband failed to put it in the "safe" place.

We have declared that it is lost on the form and have an appointment tomorrow.
