Anyone with experience of sciatica?

Do you ever get pain in your toe?
I occasionally have twinges in my back but nothing too bad.
Tonight as I was watching tv I got some shooting pains in my lower back, which seemed to shoot down to my big toe.
I'm in bed now and back pains have stopped but my big toe is aching.
I googled and it seems sciatica can cause this.
It's not unbearable but i am home alone with children so I'm a little worried. (I realise no one here can diagnose me, just looking for a little reassurance )
Does it sounds like sciatica?

Sounds a bit like it. I had pains (dull aches and shooting pains) in my feet, ankles and knees and also back of hip.

Amazing physio diagnosed sciatica. Gave me exercises. All gone in a Month religiously doing the exercises and yoga.

Mad how it can creates symptoms below the knee.

I got my referral through GP

Thanks Impractical. My back seems totally fine now but my toe really aches.
Too lazy to go looking for painkillers though!
