Ds mobility after surgery

Hi all, just looking for ideas really.

My ds is 8, nearly 9. He's having knee surgery next week, a lump removed, he has a hereditary bone condition, which he inherited from me bless him, we have a condition which causes bony benign tumours on our bones. He has a big one on his knee which is hurting him so he's having it removed next week.

Now, obviously it's the summer holidays and we have 3 other dc - dsd10, dss1 who is 9, and dss2 who is 6. They want to do things over the summer.

The Dr says my ds should have little pain but shouldn't do much activity for a couple of weeks. It's dsd 11 birthday during this time and she wants to do an activity which requires a lot of walking. Ds would be so sad to miss it, we also had other plans.

He's light, about 4 stone. And ideas for mobility aid? Would a usual stroller suffice, or is he too big and heavy? Hospital say he doesn't need a wheelchair.
