Big fun fair and artificial beach, turn my back for a SECOND and she was gone! Disbelief at first, then real panic took over. She's 3.
Took about 5 minutes to find her, she'd wandered off.
We're supposed to be going to Bournemouth just me and her in a few weeks and now I don't won't to go.
I'm going to need a big drink tonight!

Give them a whistle to use if they get lost

Oh @Cantsleeppast3am I feel your pain! This is totally outing if anyone who knows me is on here but my husbands aunt took our DD to the beach. They were packing down the tent to go home, turned around and she'd gone. Police, coastguard, helicopters...you name it were out looking for her. She turned up 50m away behind the sand dunes playing with another little girl. I have never known fear like it, made worse by the fact we weren't even there to help look!

Reins is the answer. Then you can relax. Can’t understand why they have gone out of fashion. Good for hauling them up when falling.

I lost ds4 2 years ago when he was 4. No idea how long for but the staff at the centre were rubbish. Ds3 who was 6 was crying

I found him behind the bouncy castle , I managed to take the whole thing down crawling behind it to check 😳

He has asd though so no amount of shouting his name was going to help

I never know so many awful things could go through your mind in such a short space of time

It's a horrible feeling @Cantsleeppast3am I turned away from ds once in a market and when I turned around he'd gone. He'd have been about 4 at the time, I screamed his name and my neighbour who happened to be standing nearby pointed out he was standing behind me in my blind spot! Same ds now 11 went missing in a massive shop a couple of months ago, he has SEN and doesn't do directions or find his way around new places well. Dh found him a floor up from where we were, hysterical, surrounded by shop staff that seemed bemused at a massive lost 11 year old.
